Photo Exhibit
A CFS photo exhibit called “The Faces of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome” has traveled to more than 40 venues across the country since mid-2006.
“Faces” will be on display at the American Academy of Family Physicians Students and Residents Conference in Kansas City, Mo., from July 30 – August 1. Check back for dates and details about displays at other public venues across the country through the remainder of the summer and fall.
Renowned photographer George Lange brilliantly captured the strength and courage of 8 CFS patients and 2 health care professionals who are experts on the illness.
The portraits were printed on 10 huge banners, each more than 7 feet tall. Viewed together, the banners are dramatic. Response from people who have seen the exhibit has been overwhelmingly positive, and viewers find it not only educational but incredible moving and poignant.
Exhibit Participants
The CFS patients whose portraits are part of the photo exhibit are Brian Bernard, Rich Carson, Wilhelmina Jenkins, Jacqueline Niederle, Meaghan Peterson, Kathy Rabin, Adrianne Ryan and Vivian Treves.
Dr. Anthony Komaroff and Dr. David Bell also participated in the photo exhibit. Both are acknowledged CFS experts, having treated CFS patients and conducted research studies on the illness.
