CFIDS Association Gets 4 Stars From Charity Navigator

On October 31, 2008, Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator, announced the CFIDS Association has earned its second consecutive 4-star rating for sound fiscal management.

In the announcement, Charity Navigator President & CEO, Ken Beger, states, "Only 18% of charities rated by Charity Navigator have received at least two consecutive 4-star evaluations, indicating that the CFIDS Association of America consistently executes its mission in a fiscally responsible way, and outperforms most other charities in America. This ‘exceptional’ designation from Charity Navigator differentiates the CFIDS Association of America from its peers and demonstrates to the public it is worthy of their trust."

A 4-star rating comes as the result of objective scrutiny of financial documents revealing a charity’s efficiency, how responsibly it functions day-to-day and how well it is positioned to sustain its programs over time. The rating indicates that an organization "exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its cause."

Charity Navigator, itself a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization, works to advance a more responsive philanthropic marketplace by assessing how well nonprofit organizations steward their donors’ resources.
