Association Earns Top Rating from Watchdog Group
4 Stars for Us!
Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest and most-utilized charity evaluator, has awarded the CFIDS Association of America its highest rating—four out of four stars. This rating is held by fewer than 28% of the 5,000-plus nonprofit agencies whose financial health has been evaluated by the independent watchdog organization.
A 4-Star rating comes as the result of intense, objective scrutiny of financial documents revealing a charity’s efficiency, how responsibly it functions day-to-day and how well it’s positioned to sustain its programs over time. As of September 2007 Charity Navigator recognized 1,377 4-Star charities in the U.S.
Charity Navigator, itself a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization, works to advance a more responsive philanthropic marketplace by assessing how well nonprofit organizations steward their donors’ resources. Last year alone more than four million people visited the Charity Navigator's site, called “one of America’s 50 coolest websites” by TIME Magazine.
What does this mean for you? It means when you contribute to the CFIDS Association of America, you can be assured that your money is well spent to change the lives of the millions of Americans who suffer from this debilitating illness.
