The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will host a public meeting to gather input on its chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) research program as it develops a 5-year plan. The draft plan will not be made publicly available before this meeting, but CDC is soliciting input on the following 5 categories of research topics:

  • Studies of Defined Populations
  • Provider-based Patient Registries
  • In-hospital Clinical Studies
  • Laboratory Studies
  • Provider and Public Educational Intervention Research

The complete meeting notice can be viewed at http://frwebgate4.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/PDFgate.cgi?WAISdocID=821665289342+0+2+0&WAISaction=retrieve. Learn more about the CDC's CFS research program at its website, http://cdc.gov/cfs/cfsresearch.htm. No one from the program leadership was present at the 9th international research CFS conference held last month in Reno.
