The August Congressional recess is prime time for meeting members of Congress while they are back in their states and districts. Kevin Mathis, a Capitol Hill veteran and now a member of the Sheridan Group's staff, offers his perspective on these home-town opportunities to meet with your Representative and Senators. Kim McCleary has been the CFIDS Association's chief staff executive for more than 16 years. She's had lots of experience helping advocate prepare for their first, or next, meeting with a member of Congress.
Join Kevin and Kim for this webinar event to learn how to use local Town Hall meetings and meetings in local offices to reinforce CFS as a research priority for the National Institutes of Health. Whether you're an experienced advocate or a first-time lobbyist, we'll give you all the information and materials you need to make your case.
Kevin has prepared a short article about these opportunities available at http://www.cfids.org/cfidslink/2007/080106.asp. At the end of the article are links to helpful resources you may wish to explore even if you don't take part in the webinar.
