MEDIA ALERT: Sunday radio program about CFS
On Sunday morning, July 29, Dr. Sanjay Mathew will be interviewed on "Ask The Expert," a live call-in show broadcast on WMTR-AM 1250 at 10 a.m. (Eastern). The show can be heard in New Jersey, Connecticut and most of Long Island, and streams live on www.talkstreamlive.com. Dr. Mathew will be interviewed during the first half-hour of the program.
Dr. Mathew is an assistant professor of psychiatry at Mount Sinai School of Medicine In New York. In collaboration with Dr. Dikoma Shungu of Weill Medical College of Cornell University, Dr. Mathew has studied the brain chemistry of CFS patients and found distinct differences between subjects with CFS, subjects with generalized anxiety disorder and healthy controls. This research was featured at the January 2007 IACFS International Research Conference, and considered among the most important presentations. The study was funded by the CFIDS Association of America.
Dr. Mathew has received numerous awards for both his research and his teaching. He completed his residency in psychiatry and postdoctoral research fellowship at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons and medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Ask The Expert is hosted by award-winning, veteran New Jersey broadcaster Jessie Frees and her daughter Julie Briggs.
